Mandarins are one of the most delicious, juicy and vitamin-filled citrus fruits. They possess wonderful aromas and are rich in flavor, each according to their own variety.
As in the case of oranges, vitamins C and D are the leading vitamins in mandarins, which are rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help us combat many diseases, if we include them in our daily diet, thanks to their nutrients.
They can be consumed in their original form as fruit or juice, in food, in cookies, in sweets and they make for wonderful jams and liqueurs because they offer a fantastic aroma and flavor.
Varieties
- Clementines: one of the most preferred varieties of mandarins, "the queen of mandarins," as they are called. They have an extremely rich sweet taste, they are very aromatic and seedless. They can be peeled very easily and ripen from November to early February. Their skin's sweet smell comes from its essential oils, so it is used as a flavoring in sweets, creams, pastes, etc.
- Nova: a large succulent mandarin with an intense and deep reddish color. They have an extraordinarily sweet flavor and they are seedless. They are medium sized and are peeled easily. Their harvest takes place in January and February.
